We are therefore seeking a dynamic Procurement Officer to support TI Zambia programming and operations with Procurement tasks.
Position: Procurement Officer
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities:
-Develop and implement procurement strategies/plans to ensure cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining quality standards.
-Source, evaluate, and select vendors based on criteria such as price, quality, and delivery speed.
-Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers/vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
-Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and inventory levels.
-Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide support and guidance as needed.
-Stay abreast of market trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements in procurement.
Requirements:
-Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supply, CIPS level 6 professional diploma, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration with certification in purchasing and supply or equivalent.
-A member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)
-Three to Five (3-5) years proven experience working in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in an NGO or similar environment.
-Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-Attntion to detail, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office applications.
