A SMALLER BUDGET: The total nominal budget allocation has reduced by 3.3 percent from K172.99 billion in 2022 to K167.32 billion in 2023. This reflects government drive for fiscal consolidation under the IMF Supported Economic Recovery Program. ALLOCATION CHAGES: Government has shifted resources from debt servicing, Under General Public services, towards the Social Sectors. The allocation towards debt servicing reduced from K78.7 billion in 2022 to K40.8 billion in the 2023 budget.
